About Town
Many of the individuals involved with GRRco share a common history that is both a musical and personal one. Raised in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, surrounded by rocks filled with gold, whispering pine trees, red dirt and green grass, hippies, rednecks, retirees, rich folks and working class heroes, a group of kids started playing music together as early on as elementary school. By high school, most had a band or three that played in various backyards and garages around town. No two groups sounded the same, a testament to their respective parents' diverse record collections and how each was affected differently by the area’s rich setting of musicians, poets, writers and creative thinkers. Most left to study, to travel or to simply live in another city, yet nearly all returned, left again and at some point came back, agreeing that there was something unique about their home and the people there.
